Yesssssssssssss Yuletide is here
Dear Yuletide Santa,
Thanks for signing up and being awesome and stuff. I'm pretty easy to please. If you look back on any of the fic I've written, it is pretty clear I do not have high standards at all. I like cliches and ridiculous situations and bad humor. So don't stress out!
Dislikes: Deathfic, unhappy endings, things that make me cry, anything that's not some form of third-person past-tense, underage sex, cheating, anything beyond light kink.
Likes: lolz, banter, exceedingly happy endings following a lot of angst, most cliche!fic, characters trolling other characters, characters being mean to other characters but in a loving fashion, strong female characters, found families.
I'm good with gen or pairing fic, whichever you're most comfortable writing for the particular set of characters. The prompts are mostly to give you a starting point if you need one, but if you're like "Oh shit, I've totally always wanted to write this 1000ish word fic for this fandom, but never had the proper motivation," well, write away! Also, the characters I chose are just the ones I'd prefer the story to center around, I don't care if you add other characters from the cast, too. In fact, that would be awesome.
Request #1: Burn Notice, Fi/Michael/Sam, "casino heist"
Okay, first off, one of the things I love the most is how much Fi and Sam bicker. I love bickering. If you wrote an entire fic of Fi and Sam bickering and completely ignored all the other characters, I would welcome it with open arms, that is how much I love them bickering. I love how everyone treats Michael's loft as the commonroom of a dorm. I love how fucking awesome everything about Fi is, especially her enthusiasm for blowing shit up.
Request #2: Ilona Andrews - Kate Daniels, Curran/Kate, "secrets"
The thing I love most about this series is that Kate holds her own against Curran. She doesn't bow to his will just because he's an alpha male and she has the hots for him. I fucking hate that, and it's in 90% of urban fantasy/paranormal romance, and it drives me fucking nuts. And, again, with the bickering. I love bickering. 1000 words of them bickering would be awesome. Also: anything involving the bouda would be awesome, too. ♥The bouda.♥
Request #3: The Mentalist, Jane/Lisbon, "carnival"
You know how there's that one episode where Jane is like "Let's go on a picnic!" and everyone is like "You've got to be fucking kidding me Jane."? Well how awesome would it be if Jane dragged everyone, or just Lisbon, or everyone to a carnival? WICKED AWESOME, THAT IS HOW. Since I signed up for Yuletide I've gone from shipping exclusively Jane/Lisbon and Rigsby/VanPelt to shipping, uh, Rigsby/VanPelt with a side of Jane/everyone. They're his little adoptive family! I fucking love found families like that. So, really, I'd be happy with Jane/Lisbon, or Rigsby/VanPelt, or Jane/anyone, or Jane/everyone, or just lulzy Jane-centered gen.
Request #4: Castle, Beckett/Castle, "pretending to be married"
Oh my god how hilarious would Beckett and Castle pretending to be married be? Hilarious times a million. Do I need to mention bickering again? And how much I love it? Because I love their bickering and I fucking love how Beckett trolls the fuck out of him and won't put up with any of his shit and god I love her so fucking much. The Halloween episode was definitely the peak of awesome for this show, and really all of this season except for episode 8 were great. I like to pretend episode 8 never happened.
If you need anything more, leave an anonymous comment and I will try to oblige, even if I guess that's technically against the rules. I just don't want your life to be any harder than it needs to be, and I recognize that this is not the most amazing yuletide letter ever.
